Grammy Awards 2025: A Night of Milestones and Historic Wins

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The 2025 Grammy Awards were a night to remember, with Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, and many others taking home some of the industry’s highest honors. The annual event, which aired live on CBS and Paramount+, celebrated musical excellence across a wide range of genres, recognizing both established icons and rising stars.

Beyoncé emerged as one of the evening’s biggest winners, securing the coveted Album of the Year award for Cowboy Carter—a project that also earned her Best Country Album. Entering the ceremony with a record-breaking 11 nominations, Beyoncé solidified her place in history, now boasting an astounding 99 career Grammy nominations, making her the most nominated artist in the history of the awards.

Kendrick Lamar also had a triumphant night, winning multiple awards, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year for his explosive diss track, Not Like Us. His wins further cemented his reputation as one of hip-hop’s most influential and skilled lyricists.

The first award of the day was presented during the early Premiere Ceremony, where Sabrina Carpenter claimed the award for Best Pop Solo Performance for her hit single Espresso. In another landmark moment, The Beatles won Best Rock Performance for Now and Then, an AI-assisted track that brought the legendary band back to the Grammy stage decades after their initial success.

The main telecast delivered more history-making moments. Rising rapper Doechii won Best Rap Album, making her only the third woman ever to receive this honor. Meanwhile, Chappell Roan was named Best New Artist, a testament to her rapidly growing influence in the music industry.

Hosting the Grammy Awards for the fifth consecutive year was comedian Trevor Noah, who brought his signature humor and energy to the event. Earlier in the day, the Premiere Ceremony was hosted by Justin Trantor, a songwriter and producer known for his work with some of pop music’s biggest names.
