Lily Collins Welcomes First Child via Surrogacy

Lily Collins, the star of Netflix’s hit series Emily in Paris, has joyfully announced the birth of her first child via surrogacy. The 35-year-old actress shared the heartwarming news in a joint Instagram post with her husband, filmmaker Charlie McDowell.

A Joyful Announcement

On social media, the couple revealed their daughter’s name, writing, “Welcome to the centre of our world, Tove Jane McDowell.” The touching post included an image of their newborn peacefully sleeping beside a blanket embroidered with her name.

Collins and McDowell also took the opportunity to express their deep appreciation for their surrogate and the medical team that supported them on their journey to parenthood. “Words will never express our endless gratitude for our incredible surrogate and everyone who helped us along the way,” they wrote. The post concluded with a heartfelt declaration: “We love you to the moon and back again.”

A Tribute to Family

The announcement came just one day after Collins honored her father, legendary musician Phil Collins, on his birthday. She shared a sentimental tribute on Instagram, reflecting on their bond over the years. “From a west coast star to the West End stage and everywhere in between, I’m so grateful to be by your side and for the support, experiences, and love we have and will continue to share,” she wrote.

The post was accompanied by nostalgic photographs, including one from 1999 when she was just 10 years old, standing beside her father at his Hollywood Walk of Fame induction ceremony.

A Flourishing Career

Born in Guildford, England, and raised in Los Angeles, Lily Collins began acting at an early age. Her career took a significant turn in 2020 when she landed the lead role in Emily in Paris, a romantic comedy series that quickly became a global sensation. The show follows the adventures of Emily Cooper, an American marketing executive navigating life and work in Paris.

The latest season, released in 2024, saw Emily moving to Rome to open a new office, adding a fresh dimension to the storyline. The show has been renewed for a fifth season, though details regarding its filming location remain undisclosed.

Beyond television, Collins made her West End stage debut last year in the romantic thriller Barcelona. In the production, she portrayed an American tourist entangled in a passionate one-night encounter with a charismatic Spaniard, played by Money Heist star Álvaro Morte.

Looking Ahead

As Collins and McDowell embrace their new roles as parents, fans eagerly await updates on both their personal and professional journeys. With Emily in Paris set to return and Collins’ continued foray into theater, the actress is poised for an exciting new chapter—both on and off the screen.
